Hi, I’m Riley Wildwood, the writer behind CampingTale.com.

I started this site to make camping feel approachable. Too many guides assume you already know what you’re doing, or push the most expensive gear. I want CampingTale to be the practical, honest resource I’d want before a trip.

What You’ll Find Here

• Camping Tips: simple, practical advice to help you enjoy better trips
• Gear Guides: balanced recommendations to help you choose the right equipment
• Trip Planning: checklists, destination ideas, and step-by-step preparation
• Outdoor Skills: camping techniques, wilderness basics, and responsible outdoor practices
• Trip Stories: stories and ideas to inspire your next outing

My Mission

To help people spend more time outdoors with greater confidence. I want camping to be approachable for beginners, useful for experienced campers, and enjoyable for anyone who loves discovering new places.

How We Work

Our guides are carefully researched and written to be clear and useful. When we have personally tested a product or visited a place, we say so. When a recommendation is based on research, we say that too.

Some links on this site are affiliate links. You can read how that works on our Affiliate Disclosure (/affiliate-disclosure/) page.
